New Village Academy Wishlist

New Village Academy has brought together student co-designers, diverse community leaders, and a partnership with the City of Annapolis to create a small, cutting-edge, tuition-free charter high school for the young people of Anne Arundel County, using Annapolis as our classroom and the science of motivation as our guide. New Village students DO their education instead of having it done TO them. They will open in August 2025 with 150 students in a new, innovative learning space at Annapolis Mall. Here are some ways to support them:

Ways you can help:

  • Follow New Village Academy on Social Media and share their posts with your networks - too many don't know about AACPS's newest, coolest school!

  • Start collecting young adult books, plants, and sturdy furniture needed for our building in July/August.

  • Donate at Zeffy.com.

Small to moderate donations:

  • $35 to buy plants for an Indoor Garden Bed to bring nature indoors.

  • $50 to buy a floor chair to flex their space for individual and collaborative learning.

  • $100 to purchase equipment for their Yoga/Dance Studio to help students manage stress.

  • $250 to let a Crew of 14 students and a teacher build trust together on a Low Ropes Adventure.

  • $450 to sponsor a student to dual enroll in an Anne Arundel Community College course (State funding only covers one course per year).

  • $325 to provide a Chromebook for each student.

The big ones!  - Join their Founder's Circle:

  • $40,000 to purchase equipment for an innovative “FabLab” (STEM/Maker Space), Science Lab, or our Art Studio.

  • $15,000 to build their Digital Arts Studio, Stage, or Greenhouse.

  • $10,000 to sponsor a Community Action Project where student teams learn science, social studies, and literacy skills by working with local experts to solve real-world problems like gun violence, the housing shortage, literacy gaps, health access diabetes, climate change, Chesapeake Bay dead zones, and more.

  • $8,000 to provide an Audio/Visual Set Up or stage lighting in the Cafetorium.

How to help in person when we open next Fall!

  • Become an internship mentor, hosting a interested student in your workplace once a week for 10 weeks.

  • Become an academic tutor any day from 9 to 11am.

  • Become a community advocate for a student, meeting 4 times a year to follow their personal and academic growth.

If you would like to help support any of these items, please reach out to Romey Pittman, Head Director at info@newvillageacademy.org.
