Partners In Care Wish List
1. Partners In Care (PIC) wishes for caring and compassionate volunteers to help Anne Arundel County’s Older Adults remain independent in their homes by providing rides, handyman tasks, and other neighborly tasks such as friendly visits, light grocery shopping, and help completing paperwork. PIC has a unique culture of service exchange, whereby members volunteer their time and talents to help each other with neighborly services. Volunteers may also help in our Upscale Retail Boutique or in our offices. In return, members ages 60 and older can ask for assistance when needed. Younger members can “bank” their hours or donate them to a family member, friend, or any other member in PIC.
2. PIC wishes for donations of: gently used clothing, jewelry, accessories, household items and decor, small furniture, kitchenware, and other accepted items for us to sell in our Upscale Resale Boutique. The Boutique generates approximately 40% of the revenue for our programs and services that allow the older adults in Anne Arundel County to age in place, with dignity and respect, in the homes and communities they love.
3. Partners In Care wishes to recruit and connect more veterans in Anne Arundel County through our Veterans Helping Veterans (VHV) program. VHV uses PIC’s unique service exchange model to provide a network of support and camaraderie for both older and younger veterans alike.
4. Partners In Care wishes for monetary donations from our community members and local businesses, allowing us to continue to offer our members 152 volunteer rides per week, 77 mobility bus trips per week, 148 program support tasks per week, 127 member care “touches” per week, and 12 handyman “honey do” services per week.
5. Partners In Care wishes to make new connections in Anne Arundel County with nonprofit, corporate, and government organizations who are interested in helping citizens ages 60 and above live independently in their homes and remain active in the communities they love.
